CHANGES TO THE NORWEGIAN AND SWEDISH CONSULATE IN CAPE TOWN |

As of the 1st of July, the Consulate of Sweden will move to Innovation City in Gardens. Since the Norwegian and Swedish consulates will no longer be operating from a single location, the appointment times will change. Going forward, Swedish pre-booked appointments will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 am and 2 pm. Appointments are to be scheduled using our booking platform, as before. The new website and email address for the consulate of Sweden are as follows: The contact number and call times for the combined consulates will remain the same, and email correspondence will continue as normal. For Swedish emergencies, call +27 12 4266400 (24-hour line) For Norwegian emergencies, call +27 12 3643700 (24-hour line)
Norwegian appointments will be available at the current V&A office on Wednesdays and Fridays between 10 am and 2 pm, using our appointment booking platform. The President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, has officially recognised Mr Carl Fredrik Sammeli as the Honorary Consul of Sweden in Cape Town, with jurisdiction covering the Western Cape and Eastern Cape provinces. The Commission of Appointment, dated 1 March 2025, confirms Mr Sammeli’s role and grants him the privileges, immunities, and responsibilities in accordance with Section 84(2)(h) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996.
